Installation Instructions

Installation of the SportFence™ outfield system is easy.

  1. We suggest you measure your outfield prior to setting up the fence.

  2. Make sure you know where the foul line will be and mark the spot that coordinates with the foul line and the appropriate distance from Home Plate to the outfield fence (at the foul line). This is where the end of the fence or the foul pole should be placed --- right and left fields.
  3. We always suggest you begin with the fences at center field and work around but it is up to you.
  4. Each fence should have the sliding feet pushed all the back to the rear.off the playing area.
  5. The wickets serve three purposes: They stop the fence from falling forward due to the foot being pushed all the way back; they stop the fence from falling backward if hit by a player and they lock in and abut the neighboring fence at the ground.
  6. Place the wicket over the two abutting sliding feet approximately half way down the length and drive the wickets all the way into the turf. You should use our sandbags if staking is not an option; they work well as an alternative.
  7. The flexible connectors attach the tops of each fence.
  8. Continue this process following the predetermined measurements all the way around your outfield.
  9. If you ordered black fences, it is suggested you place them precisely in the center of the system straight out from home plate.
  10. A typical outfield shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes to set up.
